drop manholes wrongly interpreted in SWMM 5.0.0.22

We are producers of design software for sewage system (Urbano Canalis) which has an option to export geometry to SWMM for calculation purposes.

Until now we did not have any problems with that. Today one customer sent the message that something is wrong with drop manholes (cascades) and slopes which are transfered from Urbano Canalis to SWMM (INP file).

After little investigation we found out that the same INP file seems to function correctly on version 5.0.0.13 and not correctly on version 5.0.0.22 (the newer or latest one). In the newer release, drop manholes are not correctly drawn.

The pictures are as follows:

We tried to inspect functionality which was made among the versions, but cannot find anything connected with our problem. What we are doing wrong? Please for help.

  • Thank you Bob!

Now the INP file functions in 22 version.

But still the question: How come that with "ELEVATION" everything functions in 13 version. At the end is it changed or what...???

    • Link Offsets were added by the EPA in v14 so in v13 the command was just ignored and Depth offsets were used

      FORCE_MAIN_EQN,    LINK_OFFSETS,      MIN_SLOPE,                         //(5.0.014 - LR)

  • Hi, it looks like the option of depth for offset is not set right in the input file  If you set it equal to DEPTH by altering the input file, the HGL plot looks better in v22.  You need to edit the OPTIONS section and make OFFSETS DEPTH and not elevation
