Hello all,
Is there an idiots guide for getting started with SWMM5 in Matlab?
I've been handed a folder with all of the code for a larger model which contains SWMM5 but can't get it to run overall because I can't get the SWMM5 model library (?) to load.
I have no real computational background whatsoever so all of this 'compiling' 'pathway' setting stuff is not natural to me and none of the guides online provide a satisfying starting point.
I appear to have a .dll, .h and a .exe file within the folder but I've no idea where to start with loading the library into MatLab. Everything is stored in a folder entitled SSDIM which is located at C:\SSDIM.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Normally, you want to use the file SWMM5.EXE which is the DOS Console program and the one you run in batch model. The file SWMM5.DLL is the DLL engine that runs with the SWMM5 GUI - you do not want that.
I have never run SWMM5.EXE with MATLAB but I have seen a lot of students via email and posting do it successfully so it can be done.
This forum has some previous discussion on the matter
