total flow rate Urgent pls

Hi I am currently using SWMM. I have design a model on the program , I want to know how I can get the total flow rate from all sub catchment going into the sump , I want the final total flow rate.  there are two areas one area includes 12 sub catchments which are connected by nodes and links going into the sump and another area has 6 big sub catchments which are not connected by links both both area have one outlet sump which the water goes into, I want to find out how I can get the total flow rate for each area going to the sump .

Second problem I m keep getting negative value on one link on my flow grapgh i want to know if there is any thing wrong why ? and why at the end all lines end to zero, as you see only the red line starting from negative which is why I m having doubt

  • do u mean this one , could you please tell me where to get that system outfall graph  3293143287?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

    • No, I mean the row under the total inflow called the outflow

  • Yes, the total flow is giving by the total Inflow graph 3293142036?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

    • Dear Bob

I have worked on the program , I have added a node and a link from subcachment S13 going into the outlet because I wanted to find out the total flow rate from s13,s14,s15,s16,s17 and s18 seperately. but its keep giving me error , it says my outlet has more than one inlet which i think there shouldn't b any problem. I have attached the file if you can please have look at. 3293142992?profile=originale any problem with that.  3293144346?profile=original

      • You can only have one link to an outfall node.  You need to make two outfall nodes with the same invert elevations.

        • but thats right if I want to find out the total flow rate for all sub catchment going to one outfall what i should do with that or i just have to sum up both outfall , because i need to find out separately and also the total one !!

          • Use the System Outfall Graph, it will be the sum of both Outfalls.

  • I made a small movie that I hope helps here

the Simulation options are to your left in the GUI

    • cheers mate , you are legend I finally found it , :) thank a lot , its time for me to go to bed i think , I can sleep in peace now :) , i need to get back to work on it tomorrow again at this time , just the quick last question , so the total flow rate (Q) for this model is the peak top of the graph which is between 500 to 600 , that's our total flow rate ? 3293141435?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • You need to use the Map Tab and move the time slider to show the water moving, I changed the time steps to 1 minute for hydrology and report
