UNIT system confusion

Hello,

I'm trying to run SWMM 5.0.022 out of MATLAB. I wonder how the unit system works in input file?

for example are the unit for "subcatchment area" and "LID control area" same? where could we change these units? I have the same confusion about the "LID control width" and "subcatchment width".
